Drawing inspiration from the often-overlooked engineering feature known as the boss, this seemingly minor detail is brought to the forefront. Commonplace in industrial components, both the boss and rib serve practical purposes but usually go unnoticed by anyone outside of engineers and designers. Here, however, they take centre stage, evolving into decorative elements that remain faithful to their original functions.
